In this assignment you will produce a business plan to support an application for finance.

 

Have a look at some of the following bank business plan models to see what sort of information a bank is looking for

 

HSBC

Halifax (Royal Bank of Scotland)

Yorkshire Bank

 

In your proposal you should include the following sections

(items in red can be copied and pasted from earlier assignments):

 

1. About the business

A brief description of the business

The purpose of the plan (e.g. to obtain finance from a bank or to set targets)

The aims and objectives of the business

The USP and a description of the edge over the competitors

Your chosen legal status  including your liability

Your trading terms and conditions

Any licences you have to obtain

The laws you will have to abide by

Why you want to set up the business

Any other laws specific to your business

 

2.  Marketing plan

A summary of your market research results

A description of your competition

A description of the marketing you will do

Your pricing policy

 

 

3. Human Resources Plan

A summary of your staffing requirements

A plan of your opening hours and a staffing rota if applicable

A copy of your CV

Details of contracts of employment and pay

Any skills gaps you have and how you will fill them

Policies you will use for grievances

4. Physical resource plan

Details of your premises and the internal layout

Your health and safety policy including risk assessment

A break even forecast

A 12 month cash flow forecast with justification

A description of where your see the business in the future

A description of how you will cope in times of difficulty
