There are 3 different sectors that a business could belong to
Primary - Extracting products from the ground e.g. mining, fishing and farming Secondary - Transforming primary products into finished and semi-finished goods. e.g. manufacturing and construction Tertiary - Providing services to individuals and businesses e.g. retailing and catering |
Task
a) Click here to download a spreadsheet
b) Follow the instructions on the spreadsheet and draw some graphs to show the trends in the different sectors. Copy and paste your work into a word document. Give the document a heading and save it as 'sector trends' You will use this work in your assignment.
c) Make a table to contain examples of each sector. Use the 3 sectors as headings. Find 5 examples of real companies in each sector by searching the internet or from your own knowledge.
d) Chose one business from c and write a paragraph about it to say

How does it compete?
What is its market share?
